Heart of Island

During this excursion you will have a chance to visit the most significant archaeological sites of the island of Rhodes. We will see the legendary Lindos which was founded by Dorians in 11 century BC. Being accompanied by our guide you will go up to Acropolis of Lindos where you will see the historical monuments. Going to the center of the island we arrive in Apollona village with its authentic atmosphere. Also, we will visit 7 springs nature preserve where we will have a walk in sycamore trees and pines shadows and will be told for many interesting facts about the power of springs and the bravest ones can go through “Tunnel of Youth”.

LINDOS

On the way to Lindos you will listen to the story about the first Greek Acropolis and its role in ancient Greeks life being.

Firstly, you will see Acropolis while approaching to the town and it’s amazing!

Going down to Lindos you can choose both ways to rich Acropolis on the top of the hill, going through narrow shadowed streets or using the local “transport”- donkey, accompanied by their owners (cost of this “transfer” is 6 euro).

Our guide will tell you incredible history facts, taking your minds through the centuries.

Going up directly to the temple of Athena Lindia you will see and understand the power of belief in ancient gods. Tremendous view to the heart shape bay opens from this hill. Exactly here the vessel with Apostle Paul on board approached Rhodes.

Going down to the village you can see traditional houses and unusual church of Virgin, which is famous by its rare frescoes.

During free time you can visit souvenir shops and try a cup of Greek coffee with lovely Lindos bay view.

After we leave Lindos, we will head to one of the ceramic workshops, where you will get acquainted with the production process, which remains unchanged for hundreds of years. Learn the secrets of firing ceramics and making the mysterious «bowls of Pythagoras».

Anyone can try to make a clay product themselves and take your masterpiece for memory.

APOLLONA VILLAGE

Having departed from Lindos will follow to the base of Prophet Elias Mountain where non touristic village Apollona is located. Walking along the narrow streets of the town, our guide will tell you what the kinds of local people’s occupation were in the past and how they live nowadays.

We will visit traditional house-museum and see olive oil soap production secrets; you can buy it as a souvenir as well. We will taste the real village olive oil and local wines. Not far from here you will be offered lunch.

7 SPRINGS NATURE PRESERVE

Crystal-clear waters of seven springs which meet in one stream pass through the tunnel and get in a lake where the rarest small fishes Gizani live.

As per local legend the springs possess the power of purity. Our guide will tell you about ritual of passing through the “Tunnel of Youth”.
